Rules and Conditions:


1: H.I.O.C is free to join

2: Membership is only to people who live in Hokkaido

3: Because H.I.O.C is free to join, there is an inexpensive event fee for every event or trip that H.I.O.C organizes to help run the club.

4: H.I.O.C Members cannot recruit other H.I.O.C members or anyone else who joins an event for other outdoor clubs or any type of outdoor companies or other type of businesses including English schools and private English lessons without the approval from H.I.O.C admin first.

5: H.I.O.C organizes at least one event or trip a month.

6: By joining this group and club you understand and agree that any photos or video of you taken on any H.I.O.C event or trip can be used for promotion of H.I.O.C and can be used on it's blog and Facebook pages

7: People understand that part of the event fee goes to paying the cost for anyone who organizes an official H.I.O.C event.

8: You understand and agree that H.I.O.C has no responsibility or liable for any gear being lost or damaged on any H.I.O.C event or trip.

9: You understand and agree that H.I.O.C has no responsibility or liable for any damage cause to anyone car that is used to give people a ride during any H.I.O.C event or trip.

10: You understand and agree that H.I.O.C has no responsibility or liable for death or injury cased while been transported during a H.I.O.C event or trip.

11: You understand and agree that H.I.O.C and any members have no responsibility or obligation in teaching anyone English or Japanese. This is done volunteer bases only.

12: Any gear that is supplied or rented out by H.I.O.C and is lost or damage must pay for a new one to replace it

13: Anyone not abiding by these rules and conditions can lose their membership.

14: Members are more than welcome to lend any gear they have to other members but this is done at your own risk and H.I.O.C has no responsibility or liable for any damage or lost to any gear lent out or borrowed.

15: Members can not organize their own group and do the same event (hike,camp,party) on the same day at the same place.

16: Event cancellation fees: Once an event has been confirmed that it is on by the sign up date. If anyone who has signed up and cancels or pulls out there is a cancellation fee to be paid.
If accommodation has been booked then people have to pay the cancellation fee whatever that is. If people cancel 2 days before the event is set to start then they have to pay the full event fee.

By becoming a member of the Hokkaido International Outdoor Club (H.I.O.C) or joining an event or trip and reading this page that you have agreed to all the rules and conditions written on this page.
